Join Our Finance Team

We’re looking for a detail-driven Staff Accountant who wants to take ownership of key accounting processes and play an important role in maintaining the accuracy of our financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both core accounting responsibilities and complex payroll tax compliance, including multi-state payroll tax filings.

You’ll work closely with finance leadership while gaining exposure to the full accounting cycle, payroll tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and opportunities to improve financial processes as the company grows.

What You’ll Do

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions and reporting.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and strengthen internal controls.
  • Participate in accounting projects and process improvements.

Payroll & Multi-State Payroll Tax Compliance

  • Prepare and file multi-state payroll tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings.
  • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts, including payroll liabilities and tax accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll tax payments and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Reconcile payroll tax liabilities between payroll systems and the general ledger.
  • Respond to and resolve tax notices from federal, state, and local tax agencies.
  • Maintain payroll tax registrations and assist with compliance when employees work in new states.
  • Stay current on changing payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s degree preferable.
  • 1+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll tax filings or payroll tax compliance strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with payroll tax platforms such as MasterTax and Prism.
  • Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • CPA or CPA candidate.
